'He is Risen!' — Bishop's Easter message

The Resurrection is depicted in "Christ Risen from the Tomb," a painting by Italian Renaissance artist Bergognone. The story of the encounter of Mary of Magdala with the risen Christ in the garden on Easter morning, as recorded in the Gospel of John.

As your new Bishop, I wanted to share my heartfelt gratitude and Easter joy with you.

At my installation Feb. 24, 2026, I expressed my desire that we walk together as one family of faith — united in Christ and attentive to the Holy Spirit. These words echo the timeless affirmation of St. Augustine of Hippo: Vobiscum sum Christianus, vobis sum episcopus — “With you I am a Christian; for you I am a bishop.”

In this Easter season, I am especially grateful to journey with you in the Diocese of Palm Beach. We rejoice that the stone has been rolled away and that Christ’s Resurrection renews our hope. Even amid life’s trials, nothing stands in the way of God’s love for us.

As we proclaim the Good News, may we remain anchored in the words of the Lord that guide my episcopal ministry: “The truth will set you free” (Jn 8:32). In the Risen Christ, we find that truth, that freedom and the promise of new life. May this Easter fill your hearts and homes with the grace, peace and strength of the Risen Lord.
