NEW CATHOLIC SCHOOL GIVES STUDENTS A WAY TO EARN A LIVING WAGE

Sisters of Mercy of the Americas

“The Diocese of Palm Beach is pleased to welcome the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and this new Catholic school to the Stuart area,” remarked Mr. Gary Gelo, the Superintendent of Schools for the diocese.  “We are looking forward to having this new school model being a part of our diocese, as we understand the need for a diverse, educated workforce now, more than ever.”

The private Catholic career and technical junior/senior high school will serve students for work in medical and healthcare related fields and/or college. The focus of the new school, which will open for the 2022-2023 academic year, will be located on property of St. Joseph Parish, and funded by the state’s public voucher program and a grant from the Drexel Fund which invests and partners in the growth of financially sustainable networks of private schools in underserved communities.

“Please join us in welcoming the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas to our faith family,” noted Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito. “We pray God’s blessings not only on this community of Catholic sisters who dedicate their lives to God, but also the students they will educate in the future.”
