In honor of the feast days of the Immaculate Conception and St. Juan Diego, St. Lucie Church in Port St. Lucie invites faithful throughout the diocese to unite for a night of prayer for the sanctity of life, Dec. 8-9 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
It was on the feast of the Immaculate Conception in 1531 that Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and the unborn, first appeared to St. Juan Diego. The National Night of Prayer for Life bridges these feasts. All nations of the world are invited to participate, as the Blessed Mother is beseeched to protect life and the family, and to renew the Church and establish peace.
During the hour of unity, 12 midnight to 1 a.m. (EST), churches throughout the U.S. are encouraged to pray for an end to abortion and restore God’s blessings. This night includes adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the rosary, prayer to St. Michael, silent prayer and hymns.
