Lumen Christi Award Recipient - Maria Morgan
Maria Morgan has been a teacher for over 30 years. She has been at St Helen Catholic school for twenty-one years, including sixteen as St. Helen’s beloved first-grade teacher, and the past 5 years as the middle-school Spanish teacher. Along with her many duties as a teacher, Maria serves as assistant to the principal, Curriculum Leader, and Student Support Coordinator.
Mrs. Morgan graduated from John Carroll High School and went on to St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. She later pursued a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
Maria’s students love and admire her outstanding spirit. When you walk into her classroom you are welcomed and encouraged by her endearing smile and endless energy. Maria is truly an inspiration to all who know her.
Maria and her husband, Bob Morgan, raised their three sons in Vero Beach. All three graduated from St. Helen and went on to graduate from John Carroll High School. Maria’s family are members of St. Helen Parish where she participates as a lector at Sunday Masses. Mrs. Morgan continues to “make good things happen” at St Helen School and Parish!
